Beautiful Butterfly

Morning Peeps, its another quick post from me today, just waiting for Ben and Charlie to arrive.

tue

I found this image that I had coloured up for the Copics & Polychromos tutorial I did early this month, had forgotten to make up into a card.  The colours I have used can be found on the tutorial.  Making up this card it made me wonder what we did before we had die cutting machines and all the fabulous dies that are around now, I have used plenty on here, A Cherry Lynn Tea Party Doily Die the Flowers are all Doo Hickey Dies – Vintage Daisy, Vintage Flower & Leaf, So Wrapped Tilda lace and lastly my favourite die of the moment the Whimsey Dies  Picket Fence.  The Tile Blue Seam Binding and delicious Flower Lace are from The Ribbon Girl as is the flower charm.

Today I have another card for you using Heartfelt Creations Christmas Stamps from J & C Creations.

Fancied Black and White for this one, I have used 3 stamps on this card: Large and Smaller Spruce Trees from Magnificent Spruce Trees, and Snowy Winter Scene from  the Snowy  Window Scene set, the stamps were inked up with Black Soot Distress Ink and then stamped ,The Spruce Trees were stamped onto an oblong of plain white card, and Snowy Winter Scene on a spare piece of white card then cut the scene out with a nestie, the sides of both images where distressed again with Black Soot Distress Ink then I mounted the Scene into the middle of the oblong.  Then I added loads of Glamour Dust with a Quickie Glue Pen.

006

Finally I added a large Black bow made from 23mm Black Organza from The Ribbon Girl, and Two Poinsettias cut with Doo-Hickey Poinsettia Die then distressed with Black Soot and I have added Silver Crushed Glass Glitter  from J & C Creations to the centres.

Red, White & Blue

Morning all, a card for you today that I have made for Papertake Weekly Challenge, loving the theme this week, make a card in your National Colours just in time for the Jubilee Celebrations, so of course mine is Red White and Blue, I am a real Monarchist I like the idea of having a non-elected Head of State free from Politics to represent our Country, the way things are going at the moment I couldn’t think of one politician I would respect as my Head of State.  The preparations for the Jubilee bring memories of the Coronation and Silver Jubilee Parties we held in our Street.  I am trying to find the photo of our Coronation Street Party, I know Mum has one somewhere, I intend to make a scrapbook for the Grandchildren.

JUB1

Tilda has been coloured with Copics, and the papers are from the Nitwits Collections - Tour of London, just perfect for this theme.  The Celebrate sentiment was cut with the Whimsey Dies – Sentiment Die, The Flower is the smallest flower in the Spellbinders Aster Die Set, I copied Sue Wilsons idea of using Micro Beads on the flower, if you like this idea the Self Adhesive Paper and Micro Beads are available form Sam Pooles website  - Creative Studio.  The Seam Binding if from The Ribbon Girl.

A Wee Little Card

Happy Saturday peeps, hope you are all looking forward to a great weekend, here in the UK we are basking in real sunshine, its been a bit late coming this year but all the more welcome for that, the only problem is the heat does make it difficult to craft and none of my Alcohol Markers are blending properly, began to think I had lost my touch with them but with the temperature reaching over 95 degrees in my craft room I think they must be suffering from sunstroke.

oyster3

Say Hello to little Amy released by Whimsey Stamps, she has been coloured with Copic Markers (colours below).  The papers are from Nitwits Collections,  I am loving the new Sentiment Dies by Whimsey Dies they are going to be so useful. I have popped a Memory Box Die – Tilda Swirl Die behind the image,  all these products are available from Oyster Stamps, I have also used a couple of Doo-Hickey Dies as well they are Floral swirl Corner and Clover with Flowers.

Our theme this week has been chosen by our Host Iulia

We have a fantastic prize from The Ribbon Girl too. So please come and join us.

I am going through a pastel stage this week, and have chosen Pinks and Blues to match the lovely Magnolia Backing Papers, Tilda has been coloured with Copics on Neenah Classic Card.  I cut out one of the maps from the Magnolia Backing paper distressed around the edge with my Tim Holtzs Distressing Tool and tucked it behind the image.  The Doily is cut with a Cheery Lynn Die – Kiwi Doily, The Organza Roses and Charm are from The Hobby House  and I have punched some little flowers to scatter around.

Forgot to keep a note of the Copics as I coloured her a few days ago, Sorry Sad smile

Good Morning All

Had a fabulous couple of days but the trouble with going away is the work you come back too.  I have not had time to colour an image for this post so thought I would show you another of my cards made with the wonderful stash I bought at Biggin Hill.

The image is stamped with a Penny Black Slap Stick stamp, there are 2 fabulous floral images in this set  and I couldn’t choose a favourite.  I coloured the stamp with Victorian Velvet and Peeled paint Tim Holtzs Distress Markers, available from J & C Ctreations  . I managed to get 5 perfect images from just one inking up of the stamp.  I then distressed around white card that I had out through the Grand Calibur in the Elite M-bossibilities Folder from Oyster Crafts .
Be back later with a stamped and coloured card

1st Christmas card

I have scheduled this as I am away for a couple of days, will be back Thursday morning, if you follow Lilis Little Fairies Challenge the new challenge will be posted a little later than usual, it should be up by Midday Thursday.
JCMay
This is my first Christmas Card of the year, I have stamped the Heartfelt Creations Magnificent Spruce Trees with Stormy Sky Distress Ink onto plain white card, then stamped one of the 2 stamps from the Snowy Window Scene with the same ink onto another piece of card, the image was the cut out with a nesties label die both of the stamp sets can be bought from J & C Creations .  I distressed edges of both pieces of white card, and then covered a piece of plain copy paper with Stormy Sky, I used the coloured copy paper to cut out two Bitty Blossom Flowers and One Spiral Rose.  I have used oddles of Glamour Dust on the images and flowers (wish it showed up more in the picture).  The Dark Blue card is Co-Ordinations Card embossed with Spellbinder M-bossibilites folder.
Sorry this is so quick got to go, why do I leave everything to the last minute.

A Little Tutorial–Colouring Folds with Alcohol Markers & Polychromos/Prismas

I have been asked to do a couple of tutorials over the last couple of weeks so i have decided I would put two together in this little post – Folds and using Polychromos/Prismas with Alcohol Markers.
Before we start just a quick note YOU MUST COMPLETE COLOURING YOUR WHOLE IMAGE BEFORE YOU START TO USE YOUR PENCILS NEVER GO BACK AND ADD MORE COLOUR WITH YOUR ALCOHOL MARKERS.  When colouring with any Alcohol Markers always use a light hand to apply,  start your first stroke immediately your nib touches the paper, if the nib is left in one pace for just a second it will start to spread, this is where bleeding occurs.
You will need to get together before you start Paper Stumps, Sansodor (Orderless White Spirits) and of course your pencils.
019_thumb3

Once again we will use 3 colours Dark Medium & Light, starting with the darkest colour and using thin light stokes add to the inside of the folds (on most stamps it is quite clear where the inside of the folds will be).

Now using your medium colour go over and bring out the further into the image as shown below. DO NOT WORRY IF YOUR COLOURING APPEARS BLOTCHY OR UNBLENDED THIS WILL BE CORRECTED IN THE NEXT STEP.

Finally go over the complete image with the lightest colour, once this step has been completed you can then go in and add more depth with your darker colours, blending as you go.

Here is  the part that brings your image to life, with a toning pencil a couple of shades darker than you darkest marker add a thin line of colour around where you have used your darkest marker.

Dip your paper stump into your Sansodor (odour less white spirit) if your stump appears very wet absorb some of the spirit with a piece of kitchen towel, again using light strokes bring your pencil out into the images, taking care not to take to far out on the fold lines your image should end up looking like the picture below.  If you only have a couple of colours of Polychromos/Prisma  pencils and cannot find one to match the area you wish to colour then a light grey gives a really good result.

I have not added any pencil to her shoes but used the same 3 colour markers I think you can see the difference they make.
Hope this has been helpful

Flower Power

Morning all, had fab day at Biggin Hill, Spent too much as usual, but I think everything I bought I will use, sometimes I go to shows and buy stash that will never see the light of day just on a whim.  Enjoyed my Bacon Butty and Cake as well, to make it even better it is only 30 miles or so from home, so had lots of time last night to play with my new goodies.

Dandy1

I bought this Clear Grasses Stamp by Personal Impressions and a couple of Kaleidacolour Ink Pads from The Craft Shed Stand, I used the Cappuccino Delight Pad to stamp the image and add a Gold Gem to the middle of the large flower and Yellow & Copper Stickles to the rest of the flowers and leaves.  The edges of the White Card was distressed with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink one of the new Limited edition collection.  The flowers were made with the smallest of the dies in The Aster Flower Topper Die by Spellbinders, I have added Champagne Glitter Glass to the middle of each of the die cut flowers.

I will be back later with a little tutorial on adding Polychromos/Prisma Pencils to your coloured images.

A Wall Hanging for my Craft Room and News of a Super Giveaway

I have been a very Good Girl and kept my Craft Room extremely tidy for the last week (hope I can keep up this standard) so I decided to make myself a wall hanging for the room.

The Backing Paper was a sheet from The Tim Holtzs Ideaology Kraft Resist Paper Stash, which I picked up last time I was at J & C Creations, I distressed around the edge with Walnut Strain Distress Ink.  The Dressmakers Dummy was cut twice with the Tim Holtzs Alterations Sewing Room Die once from cream card and then with brown card, I layered the cream body of the dummy onto the brown base once it had been distressed with the same ink, then just tucked a couple of feathers from my stash behind the finished dummy.

The sentiment was stamped onto Kraft Card which was then torn and crumpled up and distressed, the sentiment is from Sam Pooles Art Phrases A5 Sheet.  The Tape Measure ribbon is by Creative Expressions and was bought from Crafts U Love, although I think they are now out of stock.  The delicious Silk Crush Champagne Ribbon is available from Creative Studio.
Now some news of  a great Give away from The Ribbon Girl.

They are  having a special giveaway to welcome our new Design Team Members - just become a follower of their blog and leave a comment - the winner will be picked at random on Saturday and announced on Sunday 20th May 2012 - the prize includes various pink ribbons, tiny ric rac, pom pom trim, charms, mulberry flowers, lace, twine, seam binding, pins and buttons - in fact, everything you need to help you enter our forthcoming card challenges!  If you don't win this super prize, you can get all you need from The Ribbon Girl.  Please click here to join in the give away.

Life

Another Card for  Sam Pooles Creative Studios,  its my turn to post on the Creative Studios DT Blog Today so though I would show you what I have been up to for Sam.

sam1

Unusually I started off with the finding the papers for this card, they are by Fabscraps, love them and must get some more.  I inked one of Sams background stamps (on the website soon), with Versamark ink and added Gold Embossing Powder, just to add a bit more interest to the backing paper.  The Sentiment is from  Art Phrases Stamp sheet, it was stamped with Walnut Stain Distress Ink onto another sheet of Fabscraps paper and cut out with Spellbinders Labels 13 I also used the same the same die to make the frame, then tucked a Motif from the Moroccan Motifs die set behind.

The Artful Angel which has been coloured with Copics is from the Artful Ladies A5 Stamp Set as was the Flower at the top.  I cut a strip of Matching Backing paper and folder it along the length and attached to the bottom of the card, then added a Lace rose, (this rose was so easy to make, I just distressed some Lace with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and rolled it up, love how it turned out).  The  Hat Pins are also available from Creative Studios.

Already Friday, wish there was 8 days in each week, then I might catch up with myself, today on Just Magnolia & hAnglar and stAnglar Challenge we have a fabulous sketch for you from our teamie Jacque, hope you can come and join us.

I was aiming for a Distressed Ink look on this card, I am quite pleased with the results, I coloured the image with Spectrum Noirs again and for the first time I actually used the blender pen, I usually steer away from blenders but I think I will start using it more after this.

The large flower base was cut using the Spellbinder Aster Flower Die and the Fabric Flowers are from the Prima Miss Godiva -  Caramel selection available from Crafters Companion.

The Spectrum Noir Colours I used are:

Flesh FGS9, FS4, FS2, CR3

Hello lovely peeps hope you are having a good day.  This weeks Lilis Little Fairies Challenge has gone live on the blog and this week we are spotlighting the lovely Lili of the Valley Bears with our Theme “BEAR ESSENTIAL"S”, hope you can come and join us.

I have chosen “Patchwork DaIsy” Lili of the Valley Stamp for my card and have coloured him with Copics,  I popped over to Nitwits Collections yesterday, just to see if they had anyhting new and I don’t know how but the Stuffed Love collection suddenly appeared in my basket, as you know I am a stash diet until Sunday but as it was onlt about $6 thought it would be rude not to buy it.  I love the pale pinky peachy and lemon colour ways on this collection.  The sentiment is from another of the new Lili of the Valley A5 Stamp Sheets – Sentiment Tags.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Copics and Polychromos Pencils were used on this card:

What A Day and it isn’t over yet

Had so much to do today I decided to get up at 5am and start early before Mum was awake, well as most well laid plans this one went awry, most of the work I had to do was on the Internet, I turned on my Computer and NO INTERNET!!!!! rang the BT helpline to be told there was a fault in my area, they hoped to have it corrected and up and running by Midday, well I had a bit of a “throwing dummy out of the pram” moment then decided I might as well make the most of the time and do some dreaded housework (excuse my swearing).  Was just bleaching the kitchen worktop when I heard the most horrendous noise from a Blackbird sitting on the fence,  when I went out to investigate my lovely kind, soft little Rosie had turned into a TIger and was staking out their nest which had 3 babies in it, I spent nearly an hour trying to get her in all the while The Mum and Dad blackbirds were mobbing me.  Managed to save the babies and get her in.  Will not bore you with it but the day has just gone from bad to worse, but at last I am up in my craftroom and ready to craft.

I made this card last night using a Wee Digi image I have had for ages, I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs on Neenah Classic Card, decided to be a bit different this time and instead of Glittering her Wings I decided to glitter the dress.  The papers which have been torn and distressed with Walnut Stain Distress Ink is from Pion Designs.  I have used a Heatfelt Designs Swirl Stamp available from J & C Creations and a sentiment from Lili of the Valley direct to the paper and inked with Stormy Sky Distress Ink.  The Flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft

Spectrum Noirs Used:

Greys: IG3, IG2, IG1

Blues: BT3, BT2, BT1

Greens: LG3, LG2, LG1

Hair: EB7, EB2, EB1

Flesh: FS9, FS4, FS2, CR3

Thanks for looking, enjoy the rest of your day

On The Ball

Morning all, have woken up with a real urge to buy some new dies, but as I am still on my stash diet I am having to struggle not to give in, even though I know my Diet ends on Sunday, thank goodness, and I am off to The “Sincerely Yours” show at Biggin Hill at the weekend, where I just know there will be loads of stands selling Spellbinders.  My problem since I was a child has been that if I want something I want it NOW not at the weekend, and I am afraid even at 65 I still have this trait.

Tue15

Now down to todays card, the new Lili of the Valley stamps have made making those brain teasing Boys Cards so much easier, there are some fantastic designs among this release and I just had to use this one called “Super Striker” .  The papers are from Nitwits CollectionsTour of London.  The Sentiment Label is from another of the new Lili of the Valley releases Sentiment Tags.  I have coloured the image with Spectrum Noirs onto Neenah Classic Card .
