Some Exciting News

Morning Peeps sorry once again for my absence, sometimes life just gets in the way of crafting and making cards has to take second place.  After not really crafting much for more than a month I seem to have lost my Mojo somewhere, but will send out a search party today.

Anyway back to todays card.  When I first started blogging, many moons ago, the very first Design Teams I was asked to join as a Design Team Member, where Tilda & Friends and Penny Black Saturday Challenge, in fact I was a founder member of Penny Black Challenge so I was so excited when dear Kath asked me if I had time to rejoin the DT,  although I have a lot less time for crafting now I just had to say yes, I have always loved my PB stamps and now I have a no excuse to not use them.

OK time for this week's challenge...

HOT METAL
The prize this week for one lucky winner who will be chosen at random and announced next Saturday is...

to spend in their online store where you will find lots of your favourite Penny Blacks and lots of other lovely crafting goodies for your crafty stash...

PB!

Its a very plain card, but so easy to make as a batch of Christmas Cards.  I have used one of my favourite Penny Black Wood Mounted Stamps “Fantasy”, the image was stamped with an Emboss Inkpad and embossed with Platinum Sparkle Regular WOW powder. I have added a few Self Adhesive Rhinestones to the tree for a little added impact.

The image and embossed panel have been mounted onto Silver Centura Pearl card.  The background panel was embossed with M-bossabilities Flora Folder.  I have edged the Panel with Silver Halo Glitter.

I thought you might like to see my very first Penny Black DT Card for the very First Penny Black Saturday Challenge, way back in June 2008, OMG how different my crafting is now.  We didn’t have the Dies, inks and wonderful embellishments we have now, the world of cardmaking and blogging has just grown so much over the years.  This image was coloured with Polychromos Pencils.

Hope you have a good weekend

Sweet Nativity

Today I want to share a Christmas card with you I am sure this will be the first of many in the next few months, I have used one of my all time favourite images from Penny Black -  Sweet Nativity,  I have chosen a bright colour palette today instead of my usual pastel, just to show how versatile Spectrum Noirs are.

I tried to find  matching yellow card for the Doo Hickey Star Label die cut embellishment but could not find the perfect match, once again Spectrum Noirs came to the rescue I coloured the die cut white star with the same yellows  as I used on the image:

Here are the Spectrum Noirs I used for this image:

I hope you like the card and don’t forget the little  tip for matching your embellishments.

Outside Looking In

Good Morning, todays creation is called outside looking in, I think you will understand why when you take a look at it.

002

I had been playing with Breeze Blush Misting Inks trying to make my own backgrounds, I quite liked the effect I got with the Mauve and Blue and decided to try stamping on the background with an image from Sams Steampunk Dreams Stamp Sheet , I had recently bought the Tim Holtzs Sizzix Birdcage Die and had been impatient to use it, so though I would try cutting out the stamped Dress Form and put it behind the birdcage. That was the origins of the card it just grew from there.  The Bird which was an extra die on the Birdcage Die Set was cut distress and stamped with Alpha Writing stamp.  I added a Prima Decorative Clock to the corner, and then hung Black Wrap Genie Stones from the bottom of the cage, then added different size dots with Cosmic Shimmer Pearl PVA Glue .  I hope you like the end result.

Spectrum Noir Blog Hop

I have had to schedule this post so I have everything crossed it has worked.

Welcome to the very first Spectrum Noir Blog Hop!  This week our entire design team has come together to start off summer with a grand celebration of Yellow - the color of summer!  If you have landed here from Wendy's blog, you are hopping in the right direction.  If not, pop over to the Spectrum Noir Blog so you do not miss a single stop!

I have chosen this delightful Wee Stamp by Whimsey called Fairy Silver to use for my Yellow creation, once again I have gone for my favourite pastel theme, Spectrum Noir's colour range is so comprehensive it allows you to cover everything from Pastel to Brights with Brilliant results.

I found the papers in my scrap box and mounted them onto Yellow and Cream Co-Ordinations Card, there are lots of Doo Hickeys Dies used on here, 2 border Dies and the fabulous Tag, the edges of all the diecuts and the image have been distressed with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink.

MY TIP FOR YOU: I didn't have any ribbon or pearls to Match so I used Spectrum Noir Pen CG2 to colour some Cream Seam Binding and Cream Flat Backed Pearls, I also coloured the Daisy Charm with the same Marker.  Why not give this a try when you are having trouble matching your embellishments.

I also decorted the inside of the card:

and finally here is a close up of Fairy Silver

I took this picture before I had added the glitter to her wings as I wanted to be sure you saw the fabulous graduation of colour you can get with Spectrum Noirs.

I have used these Spectrum Noir colours to colour her:

Greens: CG3, CG2, CG1
Yellows: GB3, CT4, CT3, CT2, CT1
Flesh: FS9, FS4, FS1, CR3
Hair: GB4, EB1

We are excited to announce that our new Spectrum Noir website and blog is up and running. If you have not had a chance to check out all of the great tutorials, tips, suggestions and samples our design team has posted, today is a great day to take a peek.

Playing

Morning Peeps, another very quick post have got to go and get my BP tested in a mo.  Thought I would share with you a Tag I made for a dear friend who has a shoe fetish.

shoe1

I decided to play around making my own backgrounds, this one was created very easily, first I stamped the dotty background from Sam Pooles Butterfly Girl Stamp Sheet with Stormy Skies Distress Ink, then I threw on loads of Frantage Products including Rose Distressing Enamel, Pink Shabby Embossing Enamel, and Taupe Colour Fragments, all available from J & C Creations.  I stamped and embossed the fabulous SteamPunk Shoe from Sams SteamPunk Shoes Sheet and added a little bit of Crushed Glitter Glass to the front of the shoe.  The Cogs and Pearls are from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology range.

Be True to Who you Are

Wow its a bit windy this morning, in fact that's an understatement its actually blowing a gale out there, glad I haven’t got to go out today.  I have been playing with some of the lovely products from Sam Pooles Creative Studios website, its my turn to post on the Creative Studios Blog this morning, so I have made this picture with the 6 x 6 Wooden Frame Sam sent me last week as my DT project.

sam8

I have never created anything like this before but I think I am pleased with it.  The frame was covered with Tim Holtzs Tissue Paper, which I then distressed with Victorian Velvet and Vintage Photo Distress Ink and I have randomly dabbed some Spackles on.

sam9

The sentiment is from Sam's Art Phrases A5 Stamp Sheet, stamped on to paper that has then been screwed up and distressed.  I filled a bottle from the Tim Holtzs Idea-ology Corked Vials set and added a label I picked up at the NEC this year.  The Pen Nib and Key are also from the Idea-ology collection.  The Lush Silky Crush Champagne Ribbon is available from Sam's website.

sam4

The flower was cut with Spellbinders Rose Creations Die, and the hanging fob is another Idea-ology product.

sam5

The fabulous stamp is from the Steam Punk Dreams A5 Stamp Sheet, I have stamped and glittered the image then added wings I cut from a acetate butterfly.  The Sprocket Gears are also by Tim Holtzs.

I hope you like my first attempt at Framing

Good Morning peeps, I am a bit late with this post which should of been shown on Friday, had a really hectic Weekend.  I have gone for Monotone and Plain and Simple for this one

Sampink

To finish the card I used a Bow made with the Lush Pink Silky Crush Ribbon  and popped two Hatpins behind the bow.  All the items used on this card are available from Sam's Creative Studios Website
